Q: Do I have to be 55 or over to live in The Plantation at Leesburg?

A: None of the homeowners have to be 55+...The 80/20 quota has not been met; you just can't have children under 18yrs living with you.

Q: What about security?
A: We have two 24-hour staffed gates plus roving patrols.

Q: How convenient is your location?
A: We're minutes from shopping, medical facilities, restaurants, houses of worship and major highways. There are over 1200 named lakes in Lake County. All that Orlando offers is an easy 30-minute drive away.

Q: Can we have pets?
A: Yes.

Q: What are your recreational amenities?
A: Golf, tennis, swimming, fishing, jogging, pickle ball, bocce ball, softball, fitness center and biking, just to name a few.

Q: Who was the developer?
A: The developer was The Plantation at Leesburg Limited Partnership. Lakewood Development Company, LLC, was the general operating partner and was presented the Award of Merit for Planning and Growth Management for The Plantation by the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council. The Plantation was developed as a master planned community in harmony with nature. In 2007, The Plantation was transitioned to Homeowner Ownership with a HOA Manager and Administration staff.

Q: Are there many group activities?
A: Yes. So many in fact, The Plantation employs three full-time activity coordinators to plan, organize and direct them. They include both indoor and outdoor activities, travel, drama, educational activities, arts, crafts and a whole lot more.

Q: I don't play golf, do I have to pay for golf facilities?
A: No.

Q: Are you a "TRUE" active adult community?
A: Yes, as established by HUD, the Department of Housing & Urban Development.
